Sorry it's been so long...

When I stopped blogging over three years ago, I was thinking it would be a temporary absence. But life got very full (5 grandchildren later!) with little time for creating, stamping and blogging. The time I'm getting to spend with my family is my biggest priority right now, so I have chosen to end my Stampin' Up! business. I still enjoy stamping, but it's more as a hobby these days :-) 

Since I am no longer an active Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I cannot justify the cost of keeping my Jill's, Ink. Blog active. I wanted to give you a heads up that the current blog content will remain accessible at least through April 24th. After that, it will be available as long as Typepad chooses to leave it up. Because of this, I encourage you to print or save any of my project instructions that you may want to access in the future. My video tutorials will remain available on YouTube and photos of my past projects will remain on Pinterest.

Thank you for allowing me to share my creative ideas with you over the years. I've enjoyed getting to know many of you through my classes, phone conversations and your kind and encouraging comments on my blog and Facebook page.

By now, I'm hoping most of you have found another active Stampin' Up! demonstrator. But if not, you can use the Demonstrator Locator to find a demonstrator near you.

Number of Years

It's been a little while since I've been able to spend time in my Stampin' Room (explanation at end of post), but I did want to make a special card for my sister who celebrated her 50th Birthday last month. The new Number of Years Stamp Set and coordinating Large Numbers Framelits Dies were perfect for this occasion!! With no time for creating, I looked to Pinterest and my fellow demonstrators for something awesome to CASE (Copy and Share Everything!) I saw this card design created by B.J. Peters, loved the layout and colors, so I made just a couple simple changes and voilà! A fun 50th Birthday Card!!

The coordinating stamp set and framelits can be found in the Occasions Catalog on page 11. Even better, you can purchase them in a discounted bundle or separately!

Also LOVE the sentiments that come in this set! Here's the inside of my card...

To my subscribers...So sorry my regular posts have gradually diminished over the past few months. Between fighting a very persistent case of bronchitis (which still isn't gone!), the holidays, renovating our lake house, and now caring for my grandson 4-5 days a week thru April, there simply hasn't been time for stamping. With the exception of the bronchitis, I love doing all of those things almost as much as I love stamping. Wish there were 5 of me : ) Please know that I still check my emails and blog comments regularly and do my best to respond within 24 hours. I will also continue to share new Stampin' Up! information as it is made available and new project ideas when I am able.

Join me for a Shoe Box Swap!

What is a Shoe Box Swap?

Design a card and pre-cut all the supplies for the other guests (maximum of 8) to make your card. Bring it to the event in a Shoe Box (or any box). The box will be passed from person to person so each guest can create your card design. If 8 people sign up, you will leave with 8 different handmade cards (your sample + 7 designed by the other guests)!

Need design ideas? Check out Pinterest and just type the name of the stamp set you're using in the search box. You'll find a lot of inspiration there! Or you can even copy a card design you like.

DATE: Thursday, February 18th

TIME:  7:00 pm

PLACE: My Home - 16333 Barton Street, Overland Park, KS

RSVP:   Email me by no later than Thursday, February 11th!  
                                                    Space will be limited to 8!

Once I receive your RSVP, you can expect an email from me on Friday, February 12th, with the total number of guests to prepare supplies for.

WHAT TO BRING: 

• Your finished card sample as an example for guests to follow.
• All pre-cut supplies for each guest to make your card.
• All inks, embellishments, dies, punches needed to create your card.
• An envelope to go with your card, enough for all guests.
• Your favorite adhesive (SNAIL, Liquid Glue, etc.)

     *Be sure to label each of your supplies (stamps, ink pads, tools, etc.)
       with your name so you are sure to leave with your own supplies!

DETAILS:

Card bases (already cut & scored) must be made from Stampin’ Up! card stock. I will have my Big Shot available, but please bring any dies/embossing folders needed to create your card.

Cards can be simple one layer designs or layered, but should be your best work, meaning something that you would appreciate receiving in a swap or sending to your family & friends.

Cards must use a Stampin’ Up! stamp/stamp set for the sentiment. Preferably a current stamp, but retired Stampin’ Up! is okay too.

Your “shoe box” does not have to be an actual shoe box. Any small container that will hold all your card supplies is fine.

Pre-cut supplies do not have to be packaged separately for each guest, but do place each stack of pre-cut layers in a separate plastic bag to keep them organized and easy to find in your box.

Double check that you have ALL of your card supplies, tools, & accessories prior to coming!

Bottled Water, Coffee and a Snack will be provided.

Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and let you know that I'm still here! I know it's been a while since I've shared any new projects...unfortunately, I've had recurring bronchitis since early November and the respiratory issues have been hitting the whole family hard this year. Hoping we're getting all of the sickness out of the way early this season and we stay healthy for the rest of the winter : ) 

Despite the health issues, we are feeling very blessed to be celebrating this Christmas with our two beautiful grandchildren this year! There really is no greater joy than grandchildren! Our grandson, Beckham, will be turning one on New Year's Eve...I cannot believe how fast this year has gone!! He's such a sweet baby, quiet, like his daddy. He’s curious, strong and gives the best hugs ever! He’s also very much on the move these days and my guess is he’ll be walking very soon!!  Our sweet Emma is 9 months old. She is very smiley and, as a biased grandma, I must say it’s the prettiest smile ever! She knows what she wants and lacks no determination in getting it, and she’s loud! She loves to hear herself talk. I’ve never heard a baby make so much noise. She already has a really fun personality! They fill our lives with so much joy!!!

I pray that your holiday season is filled with just as much joy and that you are blessed with the true meaning of Christmas!!
